FAQS

Solar, batteries and installation

LODEAL is a trading name of Renewable Energy Services Team Ltd (company no. 11426161), which also trades as REST UK. We design, supply and install solar panels, battery storage and EV chargers ourselves. We are not a comparison or lead-generation site, so your enquiry goes straight to our own team.

Yes. Solar panels generate electricity from daylight, not just direct sunshine. Output varies with your roof, system size, season and weather, which is why we model your proposal around your property rather than using a generic estimate.

A typical 3-bedroom home may suit a system of around 3.5kWp to 4.5kWp. The right size depends on your annual electricity use, roof space, orientation, shading and whether you want battery storage or EV charging.

Most installations are completed within 14 days of the survey, on average. The fitting itself usually takes a day or two. Scaffolding, roof work, equipment availability and network approvals can affect the timeline, and we confirm your programme after the survey.

In many cases, yes. A battery can often be added to an existing solar system with a suitable inverter. We first check compatibility, space, your energy use and how the original system was set up.

Qualifying solar panel and battery installations in homes are currently zero-rated for VAT. They are scheduled to move to the reduced 5% rate on 1 April 2027. A booking alone does not fix the VAT rate, so ask us to confirm the VAT treatment in writing alongside your installation date.

The Smart Export Guarantee means energy suppliers pay you for eligible surplus electricity you export to the grid. Your supplier, tariff and MCS certificate determine what you can receive.

Through the HIES consumer protection scheme, eligible deposits and stage payments can be protected under the scheme terms. We explain exactly what is covered before you commit.

We install across England and Wales, from major cities to rural areas. We do not currently cover Scotland or Northern Ireland.

No. LODEAL is the consumer brand of REST UK, a direct installer. Your enquiry goes to our own team, and we carry out the survey, installation and aftercare ourselves.

Cost depends on system size, panel choice, roof type, scaffolding and whether you add a battery. We give you a fixed written quotation after reviewing your property, with no hidden extras.

Eurener panels carry a 25-year product warranty, extendable to 30 years through a Eurener Premium Partner, plus a 30-year linear performance warranty. Inverters and batteries carry manufacturer warranties, and qualifying workmanship is backed by an HIES insurance-backed guarantee.

Contact our aftercare team. We review monitoring data, coordinate manufacturer warranty claims and arrange any visits needed. If you are unhappy with how a complaint is handled, you can escalate it to HIES.
